On
Saturday 15th November 2003 Band members and their families
met up for an evening's bowling. Our first game was under
UV 'glow-in-the-dark' conditions which worked out fine once
we'd got over the amusement of having fluorescent teeth
and shoes!
The bowling was fairly close with several players scoring
spares and strikes. This made lots of the grown-ups take
their game quite seriously as pride was now at stake!
The
second game reverted back to normal lighting conditions.
This meant that we all had trouble working out which weight
bowling ball we had previously been using!
Despite a wide range of ages and abilities, everyone enjoyed
themselves. We hope to go again early next year.
Star
player awards go to:
Freddie
for Premiership-style celebrations
Merv
for original technique
Steph
for 'Pinball Wizard' spin
Graham
for winning!
After
the bowling, some of us went for a meal at Clowns. This
proved a good choice as the hearty portions kept us all
quiet.
Thanks
to all those who took part and made it such a successful
event. Two people have already suggested starting up a league
